Noida International Airport (DXN) has officially opened its doors, becoming the second international airport serving the Delhi-NCR region and one of India's most significant aviation developments in recent years. Situated in Jewar, around 70 kilometres from central Noida and approximately 75 kilometres from South Delhi, the airport enjoys direct access from the Yamuna Expressway, making it one of the most strategically located airports in North India. Its location dramatically shortens travel times for visitors heading to destinations such as Agra, Mathura and Vrindavan, while also serving Greater Noida, Aligarh, Bulandshahr and several emerging industrial corridors. Once fully developed, the airport is expected to handle up to 70 million passengers annually across multiple expansion phases.

How to Reach Noida International Airport

Reaching the airport is straightforward, thanks to its seamless road connectivity. Travellers from Noida, Greater Noida and Delhi can drive via the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway before joining the Yamuna Expressway, with the airport located just a few hundred metres from the expressway exit. Depending on traffic, the journey from central Noida typically takes around an hour, while travellers from South Delhi can expect a drive of roughly 90 minutes.

Public transport is gradually expanding around the airport. State-run bus operators, including UPSRTC, have introduced services connecting the airport with cities such as Agra, Mathura, Vrindavan, Meerut and Aligarh. Delhi Transport Corporation is operating electric buses linking the airport with major transit hubs including Kashmere Gate ISBT, Anand Vihar ISBT and New Delhi Railway Station, while Haryana and Uttarakhand Roadways provide services to cities including Gurugram, Chandigarh, Dehradun and Haridwar. Ride-hailing platforms such as Uber, Ola and Rapido, alongside dedicated airport taxi services, are available from designated pick-up zones. Metro and high-speed rail connectivity are also planned as part of future infrastructure developments.

Airlines Operating from Noida International Airport

Commercial operations at Noida International Airport began with IndiGo as the launch carrier, followed by Akasa Air. Together, the airlines currently connect the airport with several major Indian cities, while international services are expected to expand gradually over the coming months. Air India Express had initially planned operations from the airport but has postponed its launch for the time being.

The airport has been designed to accommodate both domestic and international operations from day one, allowing airlines to steadily increase capacity as passenger demand grows.

Destinations You Can Fly To

During its initial phase, Noida International Airport offers direct flights to key domestic destinations including Bengaluru, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Dehradun, Amritsar, Navi Mumbai, Hubballi and several other cities served by IndiGo and Akasa Air. International connectivity is expected to follow, with destinations such as Dubai, Singapore and Bangkok among the first overseas routes planned as airline networks expand.

The airport's location also makes it an attractive arrival point for travellers planning road trips across North India. Agra and the Taj Mahal can now be reached in under two hours via the Yamuna Expressway, while Mathura and Vrindavan are comfortably accessible within a similar driving time, making same-day cultural excursions far more convenient than before.

Parking at Noida International Airport

The airport features a modern ground transportation centre with dedicated parking for private vehicles, taxis and commercial transport. During the first phase, more than 1,200 parking spaces have been created, alongside electric vehicle charging stations and designated parking bays for passengers with reduced mobility. Parking has been designed to offer a largely digital experience, allowing seamless entry and payment while remaining within easy walking distance of the terminal.

For private vehicles, parking is charged at ?150 for the first two hours, followed by ?100 for every additional hour, while a full-day parking pass costs ?600. Commercial vehicles are charged ?200 for the initial two hours, with ?100 for each additional hour and a daily maximum of ?700. Dedicated pick-up and drop-off zones ensure smooth passenger movement outside the terminal.

A New Gateway for North India

Noida International Airport represents far more than an additional airport for Delhi-NCR. It is a long-term infrastructure project designed to reshape travel across northern India by bringing major cities, pilgrimage centres and tourist destinations significantly closer.
