World Environment Day was celebrated by Brightsun Travel staff with full fervour and enthusiasm at Brahma Kumari Park in Gurugram. Various activities were planned at their head office and the Brahma Kumari Park in Gurugram aligned to the UN theme “Only One Earth” which included tree plantation and cleanliness drives, employee engagement activities and donation of a park bench.  

The main focus was to create awareness about the importance of sustainability in protecting our environment and living in harmony with nature. Over 25 fruit and native trees were planted by Sandeep Arora, India Office Head and various team members who also took the pledge towards their individual commitment to environment protection.   

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Sandeep Arora said, “we hope that our company’s effort towards conserving the environment through cleaning and plantation drives will not only resonate with our team members but also motivate the local communities to protect our world and leave it in a better condition for our future generation.”

The Brightsun Travel team members also carried out a cleanliness drive in the local neighbourhood and appealed to the residents to help them in this endeavor to keep the area clean. Everyone was seen collecting the garbage and plastic bottles from the park in their garbage bags.

World Environment Day is celebrated on 5th June every year to spread awareness among people about environmental issues. With 2022 campaign “Only One Earth”, United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) which organizes the world environment day call for collective, transformative action on a global scale to celebrate, protect and restore our planet. There are a billion planets in our galaxy but there’s only one earth and it’s time we started being proactive in our approach in safeguarding the planet rather than being reactive. The time for climate action is now!

Everyone, including the people, businesses, and government need to come together to promote sustainable development. We need to act, innovate and implement climate actions to restore nature and build a healthy planet for the future generations. As humans we need to realise that only through our positive actions today can we ensure a better future for humanity.
