From skyscrapers to highland skies, Malaysia turned moments into unforgettable memories!
From city lights to foggy mountains, Malaysia gave us memories we will never forget. Every day was an adventure waiting to unfold between towering structures, breath-taking drives, and rich cultural treasures. Below, we have included highlights from our Malaysia trip, sponsored by Malaysia Airlines, highlighting our experiences and noteworthy events—captured day by day.
Day 1 – May 1, 2025
Departure from New Delhi
We started our trip at Delhi Airport (Terminal 3), arriving at 8:30 PM. Check-in was simple and finished by 9:00 PM, but we had to wait almost 50 minutes to clear security because immigration was under great pressure. We examined the duty-free stores and retail establishments at the terminal while waiting.
Ready for the thrilling trip ahead, we got aboard a new-generation Boeing 777 small narrow-body plane. Delhi Airport, one of the busiest in India, was buzzing with activity, adding to the excitement of the trip.
Day 2 – May 2, 2025
Exploring Kuala Lumpur
Early in the morning, we arrived in Kuala Lumpur and booked at Hotel Furama Bukit Bintang, a contemporary 27-story hotel nearby Berjaya Times Square and Bukit Bintang. It was the perfect starting point for our city excursions with quick access to major retail districts and Imbi Monorail Station.
After having a hearty breakfast at the hotel around 9:00 AM, we started our sightseeing.
Istana Negara
The official residence of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Istana Negara, was our first destination. The majesty and architecture of the palace gave us a lovely look into Malaysian royal legacy.
Harriston Boutique was our next stop; there we enjoyed rich, handmade Malaysian chocolates. A lovely detour!
Tugu Negara – National Monument
Then, we paid tribute at the Tugu Negara, a moving memorial honouring those who perished in Malaysia's struggle for independence.
Petronas Twin Towers
The Petronas Twin Towers, the highlight of Kuala Lumpur, marked the end of the day. At 451. 9 meters, they were as breath-taking as we had imagined. The vistas captivated us, the excellent photographs we took helped us to really appreciate this famous attraction.
We chilled a little and explored the hotel's 27-floor layout after returning to our hotel around 6:00 PM. Before heading out for dinner at a local market, we enjoyed a cooling swim on the third floor. Although the vegetarian choices were restricted, the Indian-Malaysian fusion tastes were a delight!
Day 3 – May 3, 2025
Day Trip to Genting Highlands & Batu Caves
We started our day early and had breakfast at 8:00 AM, and were on the road by 9:00 AM heading toward Genting Highlands, about 2 hours away.
Genting Highlands
Genting Highlands offered a stunning drive through mountains and countryside. Though it rained, the foggy weather gave the journey a fantastical aspect.
For the cable car, safety measures caused a delay—approximately 90 minutes of waiting—but it was worth it. The views and cool mountain air made for some amazing memories (and photos!).
Batu Caves
Around 4:30 PM in the evening, we left Genting Highlands and arrived at the famous Batu Caves at 6:00 PM. The 42. 7-meter-tall statue of Lord Murugan, exquisite limestone caves, and vivid murals left us awestruck. Exploring the Temple Cave, Ramayana Cave, and Dark Cave was a memorable cultural experience, and we learned a lot about the spiritual and historical significance of this holy location.
Day 4 – May 4, 2025
Final Day of Exploration & Departure
Soaking the city one last time, we spent the morning savouring our last few hours in Kuala Lumpur. We came back to the hotel to check out and pack after some local purchasing and short exploration.
By 2:00 PM, we arrived in Kuala Lumpur International Airport. Our return flight was scheduled for 6:00 PM. We had a pleasant in-flight supper, and the flight was relaxing on a Boeing 777 narrow-body plane with a 2-4-2 seating configuration.
Day 5 – May 5, 2025
Arrival in India
Feeling satisfied and nostalgic about the incredible experiences we had over the last four days, we touched down securely at New Delhi early on May 5th.
This trip was more than just sightseeing — it was a blend of culture, bonding, nature, adventure, and unforgettable moments. From the majestic Petronas Towers to the misty peaks of Genting Highlands and the spiritual depth of Batu Caves, every stop enriched our journey. Malaysia offered us warmth, flavour, and a refreshing change of pace — and we’re already dreaming of where to go next!
