Day 1: Arrival in Almaty – Welcome to the City of Surprises

Day 2: Shymbulak Mountain Adventure & Almaty City Highlights
After a hearty breakfast, start an adventurous day by visiting Shymbulak Mountain Resort using a top-notch 3-tier cable vehicle. You will rise to a height of 3,200 meters in just under an hour to have coffee at the highest bar in the CIS. From dining spots and viewing decks with panoramic views to family-friendly attractions and adventure sports like zip-lining, paragliding, and horse riding, non-skiers will discover lots to do.
Come back to your hotel for a little break, then in the evening embark on a walking tour of Almaty's most famous landmarks. Highlights include First President's Park, Republic Square, Abay Square, the State Opera and Ballet Theatre, and the Palace of the Republic. Finish your stroll at the lively Panfilov Promenade and Arbat Street, busy with stores, restaurants, street performers, and local musicians. Stay overnight in Almaty.
Day 3: Full-Day Excursion to Charyn Canyon
Today, following breakfast, head east to discover Charyn Canyon, one of Kazakhstan's most spectacular natural wonders. Located approximately 200 kilometres from Almaty, this 12-million-year-old canyon spans 150 kilometres and has spectacular rock formations, deep gorges, and tall cliffs.
Take in the breath-taking vistas from several panoramic locations while strolling through the renowned Valley of Castles. Enjoy a tranquil tea break on the rim of the canyon, and don't forget your camera—this place is a photographer's dream. Plan for a ten-to-twelve-hour full-day trip. Return at evening and stay overnight in Almaty.
Day 4: Explore the Green Bazaar & Free Time for Shopping
Begin your day at the busy Green Bazaar, often known as Zelyony Bazaar. Old-school shopping enthusiasts wanting to investigate traditional Kazakh trade—from fresh vegetables and spices to clothing and mementoes—would love this vibrant local market. Stop by the Rakhat Chocolate Shop for some local treats.
Enjoy free time in the afternoon to discover Almaty's contemporary shopping scene. Renowned for their luxury labels and fashionable boutiques, visit some of the top shopping centres in the city such Dostyk Plaza, Esentai Mall, or Mega Mall. Overnight stay in Almaty.
Day 5: Cultural Gems – Panfilov Park, Zenkov Cathedral & Kok Tobe Hill
After having your breakfast, discover more of Almaty’s cultural landmarks. Begin at Panfilov Park, a peaceful green space named after the Panfilov Heroes. Walk the green lanes of the park and admire the moving war memorial.
Then go to the famous Zenkov Cathedral, an architectural masterpiece thought to be created free of a single nail. Although the myth isn't totally accurate, the vivid facade and wooden building of the cathedral make it a must-see.
Climb to Almaty's highest point, Kok Tobe Hill, in the afternoon by cable car. Take in sweeping views of the city and mountains, go for a leisurely walk across the hilltop landmarks, and dine at one of the restaurants serving a variety of international cuisine. Overnight stay in Almaty.
Day 6: Departure: Goodbye Almaty
