Embark on the 8 night Sikkim & Darjeeling adventure tour which transports you to some of the North East region’s top attractions and destinations. Witness the gems of Pelling and Mirik, admire awe-inspiring lakes, enjoy sightseeing city tours with visits to ancient ruins, and immerse yourself in culture at local villages, to name a few.
Day 1 – NJP/ Bagdogra – Gangtok (125km / 4.5-5hrs)
Upon arrival at the NJP railway station / Bagdogra airport you’ll be met by a representative and transferred to Gangtok for hotel check-in and an overnight stay with leisure time to explore. Gangtok is the charming capital of Sikkim, located in the Himalayas with views of snow-capped mountains, lakes, and Buddhist monasteries.
Day 2 – Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir Excursion (Nathula optional depending on permit)
After some breakfast, you’ll be taken to the high altitude Tsomgo Lake (alt 12,000ft) which is situated close to the Indo-China border. Here you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy a yak ride and thereafter proceed to the Baba Harbhajan Singh Mandir before returning to your Gangtok hotel for an overnight stay. An optional add on tour to the Nathula Pass can be arranged on day 2 (excluding Mondays & Tuesdays) at an additional cost (must be arranged 30 days in advance of travel).
Day 3 - Gangtok Sightseeing
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel followed by a city tour of Gangtok, covering visits to key attractions such as the Rumtek Monastery, the Namgyal Institute of Tibetology (closed on Sundays), the Do Drul Chorten, the Cottage Industry (closed on Sundays) and the Flower Show Complex. Overnight stay in Gangtok.
Day 4 - Gangtok - Pelling Departure (132km / 5hrs)
After some breakfast, transfer to Pelling for a day at leisure and overnight stay. Pelling is a stunning town surrounded by mountain peaks and home to significant religious sites and attractions.
Day 5 - Pelling Sightseeing
After breakfast, there’s a full day sightseeing tour of Pelling including visits to the Sewaro Rock Garden, the Khangchendzonga Waterfall, the Rimbi Waterfalls, Khecheopalri Lake, the Rabdentse Ruins, and the Pemayangtse Monastery. Overnight stay in Pelling.
Day 6 - Pelling – Darjeeling (85km / 3.5-4hrs)
After some breakfast, you’ll check out from your hotel and be transferred to Darjeeling, aka the Queen of Hills for hotel check-in and an overnight stay. In the evening you can enjoy some leisure time either exploring the local area, visiting a local market, or relaxing at the hotel.
Day 7 - Darjeeling Sightseeing
Today starts early with a visit to Tiger Hill to catch a sunrise over Mt. Khangchendzongha. En route back, you’ll be visiting the Ghoom Monastery and Batasia Loop. Enjoy breakfast then a visit to the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, the P. N. Zoological Park (closed on Thursdays), the Tenzing Rock, the Tibetan Refugee Centre, Peace Pagoda, Darjeeling Tea Garden, and Japanese Temple. Overnight stay in Darjeeling.
Day 8 - Mirik
After some breakfast, you’ll be driven to Mirik on an excursion. Mirik is a quaint town filled with lush tea gardens and orange orchards. The evening will be free at leisure to explore at your own pace, followed by an overnight stay in Darjeeling.
Day 9 – Departure from Darjeeling – END OF TOUR
