Day 1: Arrive in Guwahati – Shillong
Our representative will take you from Guwahati to Shillong - the Scotland of the East. Along the way, you’ll visit the tranquil Umium Lake and enjoy a range of water sports, such as paddle boarding, water cycling and kayaking. Shillong, the former capital of Assam is known for its rolling hills, lush meadows, sparkling rivers, shimmering lakes and waterfalls. Overnight stay in Shillong.
Day 2: Shillong – Cherrapunjee – Shillong
After some breakfast, drive to Cherrapunjee. This charming town of Meghalaya is one of the world’s wettest destinations, home to mountainous landscapes and hiking trails. You’ll visit Seven Sister Falls, which is one of India’s tallest waterfalls and the Nahkhalikai Falls, and afterwards explore the Mawsmai Cave. You’ll then visit Koh Ram Hoh Eco Park. Return back to Shillong and en route visit the Shillong Peak which offers awe-inspiring vistas of the city and the Elephanta Falls. Overnight stay in Shillong.
Day 3: Shillong – Bhalukpung
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and drive to the beautiful Bhalukpung town in Arunachal Pradesh, nestled between the mighty Himalaya Mountains and Kameng River. This town is a famous picnic spot offering various fun activities, including fish angling and river rafting. You’ll visit its main tourist attraction, the Pakhui Wildlife Sanctuary where you can discover lots of exotic flora and fauna. Overnight stay in Bhalukpung.
Day 4: Bhalukpung – Dirang
After breakfast, head to the charming Tipi Orchidarium which features over 80 different species of orchids. Then drive to Dirang, a small town in Arunachal Pradesh which is a paradisiac destination home to rustic charm, verdant greenery and picturesque stone houses. Here you’ll visit the fantastic Old Dirang Gompa and several picturesque waterfalls. Overnight stay in Dirang.
Day 5: Dirang – Tawang
After breakfast, drive to the majestic Tawang town, which is full of intrigue and spirituality that has fascinated Buddhist monks for centuries. This town boasts a plethora of monasteries. En route discover the snow-capped Sella Pass, then head to the Jaswant Garh War Memorial which was constructed in the memory of Indian soldiers killed in the 1962 war against China. Overnight stay in Tawang.
Day 6: Tawang
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel, then proceed for a sightseeing tour. Start by visiting the 17th century Tawang Monastery, one of the world’s largest monasteries. Later, step inside the Tawang War Memorial to admire breath-taking views of valleys and gorges, and discover names of more than 2000 Indian soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the country. In the evening, you can browse some bustling street markets. Overnight stay in Tawang.
Day 7: Tawang – Bomdila
After breakfast at the hotel, drive to Bomdila which boasts apple orchards, Buddhist monasteries, trekking trails and spectacular views of the Kangto and Gorichen peaks. You’ll visit the Buddhist monastery of Bomdila and learn about fascinating Tibetan art and cultures, and in the afternoon you can stroll around the town and explore traditional shops and stalls selling local handicrafts and souvenirs. Overnight stay at Bomdila.
Day 8: Bomdila – Kaziranga
After breakfast, drive to Kaziranga. Here you’ll visit one of India’s most renowned wildlife tourist attractions, the Kaziranga National Park, a World Heritage Site spread over 430 sq. kms. Prepare to get up close with some rare and endangered animal species at this amazing park, including Indian one-horned rhinoceros and wild water buffalos. Overnight stay at Kaziranga.
Day 9: Kaziranga National Park
In the early morning, embark on an exciting elephant safari at the Kaziranga National Park to spot the likes of swamp deer, hoolock gibbons and over 2000 Indian one-horned rhinos, which is approx. two thirds of the world’s total population. Afterwards, return to the hotel for breakfast, and later enjoy an exciting Jeep safari in the central range of the park. Overnight stay at Kaziranga.
Day 10: Guwahati
After breakfast, drive to Guwahati city. Located on the banks of the mighty Brahmaputra River, this immersive city is home to majestic temples, planetariums and ethnic neighbourhoods. You can stroll around the city’s back alleys and old quarters to browse traditional houses and colonial-era mansions, and explore local restaurants to sample a range of authentic Assamese cuisines. Overnight stay at Guwahati.
Day 11: Visit the Temples of Guwahati
After breakfast, visit the 16th century Kamakhya Temple and Navagraha Temple, which was constructed by King Rajeswar Singha in the 18th century. Afterwards, take a ferry to Umananda Temple on Peacock Island, which is set in the middle of the Brahmaputra River. Then explore the Balaji Temple and head to the Assam State Zoo in the Hengrabari Reserve Forest to spot Royal Bengal tigers and other unique wildlife. Overnight stay in Guwahati.
Day 12: Fly from Guwahati
After breakfast, our representative will transfer you to Guwahati’s Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport.
